Carex PhytoCompact
Is your individual sanitation system no longer up to standard and do you need to replace it? Are you building a house that is not connected to the mains drainage system? Do you have a project for agricultural, semi-collective sanitation for a holiday cottage, a campsite, etc.?

PhytoCompacts are an excellent alternative to traditional wastewater disposal systems as they are much less harmful to the environment. Today, many companies specialise in the manufacture of this device.

How the Carex PhytoCompact works

Wood prefilter
• Underground tank containing a filtration material made up of wood chips
• Retention and treatment of solid pollution comparable to composting
• Unsaturated flow, therefore no stagnating water or fermentation
Floral filter
• Bed of semi-aquatic plants: Carex acutiformis (sedge), Carex riparia (riverside sedge), Iris pseudoacorus (marsh iris), Lythrum salicaria (purple loosestrife), Phalaris arundinacea (reed canary grass), Filipendula ulmaria (meadowsweet), Mentha aquatica L. (water mint)
• Biological filtration by purifying biomass associated with the substrate and plant roots
• No stagnating or apparent water
